What we do
Building the STEM+M workforce, one partnership at a time
Mission Statement
Science Education Partnerships link biomedical and clinical scientists and educators with kindergarten to grade 12 (K-12) students, teachers, schools, and other interested organizations to create educational activities in classrooms or outside-the-classroom venues such as universities, science centers, libraries, and museums. The activities include courses for skills development, after school programs, research experiences, mentoring activities and curriculum or methods development. These activities expose students to careers in biomedical science and healthcare including basic or clinical research, provide teachers with professional development in science content and teaching skills and improve community literacy in health and medicine. Science Education Partnerships goal is to complement or enhance workforce training to meet the full extent of the nation’s biomedical and healthcare workforce needs.
The National Science Education Partnerships Association, or NSEPAssoc, supports these interactive partnerships by providing a platform where they can:
Communicate and interact
Share resources
Raise community awareness of partnership goals and progress
Advocate collectively with the legislature at all levels and with public and private funding agencies
Science education partnerships expand horizons
